Beauty advisers suggest using a natural honey-based face mask to soften skin and cleanse pores. Since honey has anti-bacterial properties, this sticky substance is great for use in natural beauty recipes. The best honey to use is raw, unprocessed honey. Its sugary texture helps for exfoliation, and it doesn’t drip like processed honey.

Honey and Lemon Mask

Lemon brightens and exfoliates, so adding lemon to your honey-mask is a great twist to try. Lemon is a natural source of vitamin C and is super-rich in alpha hydroxy acids. If you have acne-prone skin, this is the mask for you.
Ingredients: A lemon half and 2 tbsp of honey

  • Squeeze the lemon half into a bowl, and add 2 tbsp of honey.
  • Mix it with a spoon until it’s a liquid consistency.
  • Apply to your face, avoiding the eye area.
  • Leave on for 20 minutes.
  • Rinse off.

Honey and Spice Mask

This mask can diminish both break-outs and scars!
Ingredients: 1 tbsp honey, 1 tsp ground nutmeg, and 1 tsp ground cinnamon

  • Mix honey, nutmeg, and cinnamon together in a bowl until they form a chocolatey-colored paste.
  • Apply to your face.
  • Leave the mask on for 30 minutes.
  • Rinse off (tip: as you rinse your face, rub the mask over your skin with your hands to exfoliate. Be prepared, it will drip!)
